Abstract

Introduction: Wellness theory describes what individuals freely choose to achieve prosperity such as feeling positive emotions, making commitments, building healthy relationships, finding meaning and accomplishment in life. The development of these elements is through character strengths. Methods: The objective is to condense the evidence on the effectiveness of interventions based on Positive Psychology to increase well-being in college students. The search was conducted in Eric, ResearchGate, Springer and Sciencedirect. The guidelines of the PRISMA statement were followed and the methodological quality was assessed. Results: The interventions consisted of designing courses on Positive Psychology. The studies report beneficial effects after implementation, however more than half did not contrast their results with a control group. Conclusion: Studies with randomization of the sample, program duration and control group are required.
